Today you will head to the city of Guadalajara, the pearl of the west and one of the most populated cities in Mexico. You pick up your rental car in the airport and drive first to Penjamo and the Sierra of the same name. The agave fields begin to appear, heralding your imminent arrival in the land of tequila. You will settle in at the Hacienda and if you have the time and inclination, you can go to the Hacienda Real de Penjamo and have a first tasting of the region's tequila.

Welcome to Guadalajara, the city of mariachis and tequila. Today you will discover its incredible historical centre. You will start with the Metropolitan Cathedral and its surrounding plazas: Plaza Laureles, its fountain and the baroque municipal palace; Plaza de Armas to the south; the Government Palace to the east, where you will discover the works of the one-armed Mexican artist José Clemente; to the north, the Rotonda de los Jalisciences Ilustres, where the ashes of 98 important local figures are buried; to the east, the Plaza de la Liberacion. Crossing it, you will arrive in front of the Degollado Theatre, an impressive neoclassical building. Then you will reach the Cabañas Institute, a former orphanage classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, passing through the very long Plaza Tapatia where you can buy souvenirs.
Tequila, Guadalajara.
Drive to Tequila, the home of the Mexican distillery that produces the internationally renowned drink of the same name. The plain surrounding the town is covered with vast plantations of blue agave, the raw material for tequila, which has earned it recognition by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site. When you arrive in this "magic village", you can visit one of the many "casa tequilera" which will open its doors to learn more about the manufacturing process and the harvesting of the agave. You can choose between the distilleries of Sauza, Herradura, Cuervo or Orendain, and the tequila museum, this alcohol will have no more secrets for you.
